Sungai Akar Camp, Friday, 26 June 2026. Following the successful completion of the Induction Training Programme, Intake 1/26 hosted a Thanksgiving Evening to express their appreciation to those who contributed to their training and development. The event was graced by the Commandant, officers, warrant officers, instructors and staff, who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the 60 newly inducted service personnel. In his remarks, the Chief Instructor thanked everyone who had directly and indirectly supported the induction training, acknowledging their dedication and commitment in ensuring the programme’s success. He also congratulated the inductees for their hard work, discipline and determination throughout the five-week course.
The evening featured an entertaining cultural programme presented by the inductees, showcasing traditional dances and songs that reflected the rich heritage and camaraderie within the Gurkha community. The performances were well received by the audience and created a warm and memorable atmosphere. The Thanksgiving Evening concluded on a high note, celebrating not only the successful completion of the induction training but also the strong bonds forged between the new service personnel, their instructors and the wider GSU family.
