Sungai Akar Camp, Thursday, 11 June 2026. The Gurkha Security Unit (GSU) recently held a Medal Presentation Ceremony to honour personnel for their dedication, commitment and exemplary service to the Unit and the Government of Brunei Darussalam.
The GSU Service Medal was awarded in recognition of meritorious service and exceptional contributions rendered towards the progress, effectiveness and success of the Gurkha Security Unit. The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (LSGC) was awarded in recognition of nine years of distinguished, loyal and exemplary service, acknowledging personnel who have consistently demonstrated professionalism, unwavering commitment and devotion to duty.
During the ceremony, the Commandant was honoured with the award of the GSU Service Medal in recognition of his 2 years’ service with GSU. The Commandant then presented LSGC Medals to Officers and Senior NCOs, while respective Unit Commanding Officers and Chain of Command presented medals to ranks and file totaling 126 personnel.
