Sungai Akar Camp, Wednesday, 31 December 2025. The GSU held a farewell programme in honour of Maj Shree Prasad Bura, Deputy Commandant, and his wife, Mrs Bina Kumari Burathoki.
On the occasion, all GSU members and their families were present to witness the event. The Commandant, GSU, presented a memento to Maj Shree Prasad Bura and thanked him for his outstanding support, command, and leadership over the past 15 years. The Commandant also extended his best wishes to Maj Shree and his wife, Mrs Bina, for their future endeavours. In his farewell address, Maj Shree expressed his sincere gratitude to all GSU members and their families for their unwavering support to him and his wife throughout his tenure.
The handover and takeover ceremony were conducted, during which the certificate was signed by the incoming Deputy Commandant, Maj Krishna Bahadur Gurung, and the outgoing Deputy Commandant, Maj Shree Prasad Bura.
The event concluded with the opening of Shree Prasad Avenue, followed by seeing off the departing Deputy Commandant and his wife and finally signing the visitors’ book at the SAC Guard House.
In addition, the Officers’ mess and WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess organised a dinner night to bid farewell and to thank Maj Shree Prasad Bura for his dedicated service to the messes.
