Sungai Akar Camp, on Friday, 15 August 2025. A friendly football match between Gurkha Security Unit (GSU) and Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) officers, including the Permanent Secretary, Yang Mulia Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, was held at Sugai Akar Camp football ground.
The match, played in three 30-minute halves with 10-minute breaks, proved to be engrossing, competitive, and enjoyable. Ultimately, MINDEF emerged victorious with an emphatic score line of 7-1, with the Dato scoring two impressive goals for MINDEF.
The event successfully achieved its objectives of fostering camaraderie, promoting teamwork and strengthening professional relation between GSU and MINDEF.
