The Gurkha Security Unit (GSU) is a premier security organisation in Brunei Darussalam, entrusted with safeguarding Royal, National and Governmental interests through highly trained, reliable, dedicated and disciplined personnel.

The Unit comprises three key components: the Guard Unit, which provides security to Royal residences and vital government installations; the K-Unit, which delivers specialised K9 security capabilities and supports national emergencies through
explosive search, tracking, and search-and-rescue functions; and the Support Unit, which ensures seamless administrative support, maintenance of real estate, and management of equipment for the entire organisation.

Strengthened by a small but essential team of civilian staff, GSU fulfils its mission of delivering exceptional and proficient security services—upholding its vision and organisational goals with professionalism, vigilance and the enduring values of
the Gurkha.

The Guard Unit, forming a core component of the Gurkha Security Unit, consists of five companies (A–E Companies) entrusted with securing Royal residences and key government installations across Brunei Darussalam. In line with GSU’s vision of being the premier security organisation in the nation—manned by highly trained, reliable, dedicated and disciplined personnel—the Guard Unit upholds the mission of delivering exceptional and proficient security services in fulfilment of its operational roles. The Support Unit is a highly capable and versatile element of the Gurkha Security Unit, responsible for providing essential logistical, technical, medical, and intelligence support to personnel deployed across key government installations throughout Brunei Darussalam. Working closely with the Guard Unit and K9 Unit, the Support Unit remains committed to sustaining operations with dependable 24/7 support, maintaining constant readiness, and ensuring mission success in line with GSU’s vision of being a premier security organization built on professionalism, reliability, dedication, and discipline.
