01 March 2024 – the Commandant of the Gurkha Reserve Unit (GRU), Lt Colonel (U) Haji Bin Haji Adol, PJK, psc (j), assumed his duties and immediately began a rigorous schedule of Guard Location visits to understand GRU’s operations. His first visit started on 23 March 2024 where he inspected key locations gaining crucial insights into the challenges faced by his personnel.
Continuing his Guard Location visits, expanded his understanding of the diverse responsibilities across different sites and further solidifying his grasp of GRU’s Operational landscape.
The Commandant’s primary goal was to comprehend the duties and challenges faced by his team, ensuring he could lead effectively. He thanked the Operations Officer for meticulously coordinating and organizing these visits. These engagements underscore his commitment to operational excellence and enhanced communication within the unit.
Through these visits, the Commandant aims to bolster the GRU’s performance and readiness, demonstrating a hands-on leadership style that prioritizes firsthand understanding and direct support of his personnel.
