Sungai Akar Camp, Thursday, 04 September 2025. The K-9 Unit, Gurkha Security Unit, successfully conducted the Basic Visual Tracking Train-the-Trainer Course 01/2025 in Sungai Akar Camp and other designated local training areas.
The main objective this course was to enhance the operational capabilities of K-9 Unit by developing skilled trackers within the Special Platoon for future operations alongside trained dogs. Participants were trained to observe and interpret signs, analyzing terrain, pursue tracks, and apply practical tracking techniques under realistic conditions, while also developing the instructional skills necessary to train others.
During the course, the Commandant Gurkha Security Unit, visited the team to observe the training. The course officially concluded on Thursday, 04 September 2025, with the closing remarks delivered by the Deputy Commandant GSU and certificates were presented to all successful students.
