IEMQ Football Pitch, Saturday, 19 August 2026. The GSU Children’s Sports Day was held on 19 August 2026 at the IEMQ Football Field, bringing together local and Gurkha children for a morning of fun, games and physical activities. Organised for the children of GSU personnel, the event aimed to promote health and wellbeing while strengthening community bonding through sport and friendly competition. The Deputy Commandant, together with the COs of the various Units, was also present to witness and support the event.
The children took part in a series of fun activities, including sack races, balloon games and musical chairs. The event concluded with a friendly Senior Category “GORs vs LORs” 7-a-side football match, followed by a cool-down, nasi katok lunch and prize presentation. The event was a resounding success, enjoyed by children, parents and volunteers alike, with the football match particularly capturing the spirit of fair play, teamwork and community bonding.
