Lieutenant Colonel (U) Haji Habil bin Haji Adol

Lieutenant Colonel (U) Haji Habil became the 11th RBAF officer to be appointed Commandant of the Gurkha Security Unit (GSU) on 1 March 2024.

Commissioned after completing officer training at the Royal Air Force Cranwell, United Kingdom, he has held numerous command and senior staff appointments across the Royal Brunei Air Force, Joint Force Headquarters, Defence Academy RBAF, and the Ministry of Defence. His command appointments include No. 33 Squadron, No. 38 Squadron, and the Air Defence Regiment, while his staff experience spans operations, intelligence, personnel management, inspectorate, and strategic joint planning.

During an overseas deployment, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Haji Habil represented the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in the Aceh Monitoring Mission (AMM) in Indonesia. He has also completed extensive professional military education, including the Junior Staff Course, Command and Staff Course, and the Executive Development Programme.

A recipient of numerous Brunei Darussalam and international military honours and decorations, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Haji Habil remains committed to enhancing operational excellence while ensuring the continued readiness and welfare of the Gurkha Security Unit in support of the nation’s security and sovereignty.
